| Description: | This elegant hand made instrument is a Limited Edition Model B Steinway made in New York and took 2 years to construct. Entitled “The Instrument of the Immortals” series this piano is #16 of only 73 made in Historic Ebony. Features include brass inlay on the fallboard and an engraved pewter plaque that identifies the collectors’ edition information. Ornate scrolled music rack and exquisitely carved black walnut legs, also ornate pedal assembly and bench. The cast iron golden plate inside the piano features the patent information stampings encased with perimeter beading. The soundboard has decorative awards decals and also the names of 73 famous Steinway Artists such as Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, Vladimir Horowitz, Franz Liszt, and Sergei Rachmaninoff to name a few. This piano truly is “The Quintessential Parlor Grand.” Artist owned, professionally maintained and used for recording and recitals in my music room. This piano is a masterpiece of sound and style! Purchased new in 1998, the same year this series sold out, it is now 10 years old which is considered perfectly broken in by most standards especially when played by a professional that had the instrument tuned, keyboard action regulated, and felt hammers voiced on a regular basis. What this piano offers is the modern up to date Steinway patents and built by hand expert craftsmanship as a musical instrument coupled with the aesthetics of the Antique cabinetry design and nickel plated pedals and hinges as well. This appears to be the only “Instrument of the Immortals” currently for sale in the open marketplace.
